Gwangyang hosts the 'Gwangyang Plum Festival' every spring at Maehwa Village, where about 1 million plum trees burst into bloom from mid- to late March. The festival offers edible treats like mussels, chamgetang (spicy mitten crab stew), and dishes made with maesil (green plum).

The Damyang Bamboo Festival is an eco-friendly & green event combining the efficiency and value of bamboo, Damyang's natural resource, with the local culture. Damyang residents all  participate to pass down and develop the tradition of bamboo culture and art.

Every year in September, Wando County hosts the Myeongnyang Battle Festival to honor the spirits of the Jeolla-do people and their General Yi Sun-Shin, who heroically saved our country in the historically legendary victory of the Battle of Myeongnyang. 

Every year on December 31st, the Hyangilam Sunrise Festival welcomes in the new year at Hyangilam Rock, where friends and families make their new year's wishes as the sun rises. New Year's celebrations feature fire works, folk street music, wish lighting, and many more. 

Boseong is the largest producer of green tea in the country. Its tea fields are often featured in the background of Korean dramas. At Boseong Aromatic Tea Festival, popular activities include picking tea leaves, brewing tea, and sample green tea snacks. 

The Jeongnamjin Jangheung Water Festival celebrates the clean, beautiful waters of the Tamjin-gang (Tamjin River) and Jangheung Lake. The festival is a perfect way to cool off during the hot summers of Korea. There are activities for friends & family of all ages for this
