KOREAN ROYAL COURT RICE CAKE is called GUNGJUNG TTEOKBOKKI in Korean, and originated
from the food eaten at the royal court during the Joseon Dynasty.
Recently, spicy Tteokbokki based on Gochujang is popular, but this mild Tteokbokki based on
soy sauce is the origin.
Jorong Tteok used in this video is a rice cake made like a small bottle gourd. It has the meaning
of longevity, so in Korea there is a tradition of eating the soup with it in the New Year.
