Yeosu is a port city on South Korea’s East China Sea coast. A breakwater links the port to Odongdo Island, home to red camellia blossoms and a lighthouse with an observatory. On Dolsando Island, Dolsan Park has views of Dolsandaegyo Bridge. It also has the Maritime and Fisheries Science Museum, with an aquarium of turtles. At the island's southern tip is the clifftop Hyangiram Hermitage, an ancient Buddhist temple.

At night, it illuminates the beautiful night sea of Yeosu with colorful neon lights. The exciting and thrilling extreme sport ‘Sky Fly’ that flies over the sea makes you refreshed and thrilled when hanging only on a rope and sliding over the sea from the theme pavilion to Aqua Planet. Dynamic marine leisure sports are also free to enjoy, including kayaks and water bicycles on the sea.

The first ocean cable car in Korea that connects the islands with the land over the sea. It is the first ocean cable car in Korea which runs 1.5km as linking Yeosu Dolsan to Jasan Park. It operates total 50 cabins, 10 crystal cabins (5 seats each) with transparent floor and 40 general cabins (8 seats each). The unimpaired view of the Daedohae and nightscape of Yeosu sea around the Expo venue and Odongdo are superb. There are three points of sightseeing using cable cars. At noon, you can see the beautiful sea twinkling under the sun and the crystal cabin can feel the thrill of walking on the sea. The sunset of Yeosu from the cable car will be the unforgettable memory which will last forever due to the astonishing scenery. Finally, after the sun goes down, the beautiful lighting of Dolsandaegyo Bridge, the Geobukseondaegyo Bridge, the Jangundo Island and the Marine Park reflected on the sea makes you feel as if you are a part of that beautiful lighting.

The Yeosu marine rail bike runs on the coastal railway with the panoramic view, and is 3.5 km long. The entire course is along the coast with the tunnel section. It presents the delight from appreciating the view along the coast. About 50 rail bikes secures stability and comfort by beautiful and delicate design. It also accommodates a number of people at the same time. Then, there is no shortage in carrying out various events including company workshops, school excursions and experience programs as well as individual trips and family trips.

The Hanwha Aqua Planet Yeosu, opened in 2012 along with the 'EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea', is the second largest in Korea and is the landmark of the southern region with over 1 million visitors every year. You can commune with 34,000 marine creatures in total 280 species including white whale Beluga, the rare and endangered species in the world, and Baikal Seals.

Mokpo has frequent high-speed train services to Seoul, and is the terminus for a number of ferry routes serving islands in the adjacent Yellow Sea and Dadohae National Maritime Park.

Tourism is a major local industry. Notable local products include bamboo goods and strawberries. Damyang is not to be confused with Danyang, which is located in eastern North Chungcheong Province.

Boseong is famous for its green tea leaves. It is also the birthplace of the Korean independence activist Philip Jaisohn.
